Welcome to ballantines original hotel. you have entered an era when design and technology were innovative.. the 1950s.. a streamlined period of plastics and chrome. this hotel is small and intimate with an emphasis on vintage 50s kitsch. this is a fun-loving location with 13 differently themed rooms, with the furniture and accessories collected for each individual room. the courtyard includes a pool, hot tub, palm trees and gardens. it is ideal for romantic couples, or just a place to chill. the quality of rooms caters to more discerning clientele.

50s Musicals Suite - P1K: 
This poolside room is an amalgarm of musical greats of the era - such as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, the Rat Pack, and Gershwin. The authentic Kelvinator fridge, Crosley radio and lava lamp capture the essence of 50s klischy glam. King size bed, kitchenette, great views and patio.

African 50s - T1Q: 
This room features Leopard print bed linen and famous photographs from African movies contribute to make this cosy room a funky addition to this eclectic hotel. Room features one queen bed. This room opens to a patio away from the courtyard.
Audrey Hepburn - A2T: 
The fashion icon of the 50s is reflected in the peachy colored room with bobble chenille bedspreads and photographs. This room features two twin beds and opens to a patio away from the courtyard.
Courtney Suite - S1K: 
This pool side suite is predominantly yellow and white, with formica featured throughout. This is the only room with a fireplace and a 4 person 50 s dinette in its classic kitchen. The art work consists of an eclectic collection of original photographs, prints and painting. King bed and a patio.
Douglas Fairbanks Jr. - C1Q: 
This poolside room sports photographs of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. who reputedly enjoyed the occasional matinee in this hotel. The bed is a classic cherry wood vintage bed -queen size- with an original chenille bedspread.
French 50s - C1K: 
This poolside room features a concrete floor and a classic red and orange shag pile carpet on the floor, Bertoia chairs and artwork by Fernand Leger. This room has a panoramic view of the mountains, king bed and private patio.
Hawaiin Surf - A1Q:

This pool side room is a classic celebration of the male movie stars and furniture of the 50s , including an Earnes surfboard table. This room has a king bed, 50s retro bedspread and a patio.
Movie Women - B1K: 
This poolside room complements the Movie Men room. It has black and white iconistic photographs of the great leading ladies of this era. This room is complete with a small dressing area, 50s retro bedspread, king bed, and private patio.
Palm Springs Suite - U1K: 
This poolside suite has a classic 50s kitchen with Cadillac chairs. A yellow vinyl headboard and lime formica counter make this a very light and sunny room epitomizing Palm Springs. King bed.
Pretty in Pink Suite - T1K: 
This poolside is a pink as can be, with a copy of the famous Warhol screen-print and posters from Marilyn Monroe pictures. This room has its own 1000 piece Marilyn Monroe jigsaw puzzle. The kitchenette features rose colored melamine plates and a 1950s radio. Marilyn Monroe stayed in this room which served as her hideaway from prying eyes. King bed and private patio.
Rebel Studio - S1Q: 
This is a dramatic studio with a kitchenette and original photographs of James Dean, the quintessential rebel of the 50s. This is one of Ballantines coolest rooms. Queen bed and patio.

Drive straight out of Airport on Tahruitz Canyon Way to Indian Canyon turn right to Stevens, turn right. Property is on the right side. From Los Angeles Take Interstate 10 from Los Angeles East Bound. The Interstate 10 circumnavigates downtown LA - so be careful to follow the signs. Stay on the 10 past Ontario Airport which is 40 minutes from LA. After Cabazon -retail outlet mall about 1 hour 25 minutes from LA- look for sign to Palm Springs - Highway 11. Take first exit for Palm Springs on your right hand side - Highway 111. Travel about 5 miles before you reach the town entrance. At approximately the 3rd traffic light, make a left hand turn on Vista Chino. Take the first right on Indian Canyon Drive. Go 2 blocks and Ballantines Hotel with a blue sign is on the left at 1420 North Indian Canyon Drive. Cross Street is Stevens. Turn left and park in front of the building. Located 6 blocks from downtown Palm Springs just 3 blocks from shops, restaurants and nightlife. Views of our beautiful mountains, poolside and easy access to all freeways.
