Happiness
This drawing was done working from a photograph of Tamara (my awesome wife) and I. It's pencil on heavy drawing paper.
I started this piece as a Christmas gift for her several years ago. After working with it off & on for about a week I eventually got so frustrated that I stuck it (unfinished) on the top shelf of our closet and
never showed it to her. And honestly forgot about it. But a couple of weeks later she "discovered" it, asked me about it, then pretty much made me finish it. I guess I just needed the push because once I picked it back up it was a breeze to finish, plus it turned out to be one of the best portraits that I've ever done.
